Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Giant Amazonian Waterlilies at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory in St. Paul Minnesota.
Each blossom is attached to six or so giant lily pads by underwater stalks and some of the most impressive flowering plants I've ever seen. The botanical center in Bogota, Colombia has some of these giant lily pads but the blossoms were not in bloom at the times when I've been there.
