A friend called me from Devil's Lake... telling me excitedly that the magic time of ice-formulation was happening. I got changed, grabbed my camera gear and drove down only to get there for the last remnants of usable light. I watched and listened as little pieces of ice were blown on top of others and were sent skittering and tinkling until they found a place of their own.
